Astoria Tech Meetup has a virtual event coming up on Wednesday, August 26 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The topic is Docker Compose, which is something I was hoping we’d cover, since I want to learn more about it!

The last time Astoria Tech Meetup happened in person was back in February. I joined that one as a sponsor to share info on creating Adobe XD Plugins with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Sponsorship or no, this is a local group I was looking forward to getting more involved with throughout 2020 since it’s right in the neighborhood and it brings a lot of nice, helpful, and action-oriented people together. In fact, a number of the folks behind Astoria Digital first met at the Astoria Tech Meetup.

Like many other events around the world, the pandemic put a pause on these meetups starting back in March. I’m really glad that we’ll be experimenting with an online event after an almost 6-month hiatus.

A little more on this month’s meetup:

Peter Mckee, a manager on the Developer Relations team at Docker, will give a talk on Docker Compose!
Besides that, we'll have breakout rooms on Zoom for everyone to talk to each other about anything and everything tech!

RSVP on Meetup.com.
