Ghost CMS

I’m going with the Ghost CMS for publishing this blog. I’ve had a bit of trouble with it in the past, but what really convinced me is that the recently-released Ghost 3.0 generates a static site. This along with a slew of other convincing updates made Ghost a compelling option.

If you’re looking for a publishing solution, Ghost is worth checking out, even if you have in the past but passed: it’s improved quite a bit in the last couple of years.

One bit of friction I ran up against is authoring on iPhone and iPad, which still isn’t solved natively in the Ghost ecosystem. However, I’ve found that using iA Writer on iPhone/iPad/Mac to be a suitable replacement for most of the writing I would want to do. I’ll share more about this another time.
